Well after a week on gran canaria it was a fun contrast to land in Trondheim in a more or less fullon snowkaos, driving back over the fjell behind a snowplow was the safest way! And we arrived in the picture perfect snowclad Åre! Sauna was warm at jonnas parents place, lovely!
The next morning we got upp early and went to the slopes to get some powder under our boards and skis. And it was pretty good. Kneedeep in some places! Meet my old friend Jonte Grundelius for a coff.
But my knee is still sore, soo i gave up at lunch. Went to my car and got my glider out. And a little later i got a little flight from hummeln together with Johan Karlsson!
That means i already have 3 flights this year(09). 2 on GC and 1 in åre, and tomorrow i hope to fly here in stockholm. If i can get the keys to my flat;-).

Surf on northwest coast of GC

Jonte Grundelius, trainer norwegian boarderX team.

Åreskutan from Björnen on the 4th of januari

Johan from gothenburg
Gran Canaria, hmm. Well we are here and enjoying sun and seafood. And yesterday i managed to find a “takeoff” 150 meters from our hotel. Got a short top2bottom. Below U can see some pics. From åre and on to GC. More later…

Amadores

My kinda place, NOT.

Our pool

YEEAAAH!!!

0.5 liters of plastic bottle with Jim beam inside…

Martin Kjellman aborting mission to testfly new Morpheus. I wonder why???
Me and Jonna meet up In Stockholm and searched the web for a trip somewhere… Either sun or snow.
We got both! Drove to Åre in the worst possible weather, but we made it.
Soo now we have been out in the slopes 2 days and it’s realy good. Pistes are perfect and offpiste is powder. Great!
Tomorrow I hope to fly with da åre crew:-)
And too top the end of the year we leave for gran canaria on Friday! Sun an flying for new year!!!

Meteo for today said southerly winds, and so it was, but rain fell from the sky and ruined a day of soaring with the Fenix posse. I went downtown insteed, for some x-mas shopping. That was stupid… Alot of people going fast and furious! I still havent found the city slicker in me. Too much too fast. But i’ll get it

So i decided to check out the stockholm skatepark, that was even more stupid!!! I wanted to skate soo badly, but knowing it could hurt my knee’s way back to normal, i managed to stop myself. But it look’s like my kind of place. I like it alot.
Music played in the hall is punk. Just get’s better and better

I first set my eyes on it during the Coupe Icare flying festival and was amazed by filmquality and the size of the camera!!! Normaly i would not care about film stuff, but being soo compact i cant resist. I want one!!!

Next issue.
Well i’m in stockholm after a week in finland and i thought i got some pics of helsinki, as how i could see it… The centre of Helsinki looks like it was designed by a skateboarder, or maybe i look at the town as a skateboarder? Anyway it’s a modern city, with some older parts, sea just around the corner. Though the weather in december is testing…

No flying conditions. Hmm… I need some airtime very soon or i will go nuts. Sweden is not perfect for a paragliding pilot this time of year.
Soo i’m planing to get out of here soon. Åre, the alps or the canaries…

David Coverdale and his merry band entered the stage and did a good show! Playing the hits that made Whitesnake soo popular in the 80’s. The fact that he’s still rockin pretty hard is pretty cool, after all, he was the singer of DEEP PURPLE!!! That was a band a 100 years ago…
Though most of the band are talented young rockers on the “heavy ladder”, one of the guitarists was a classic heavy metal player, very fast! and the other guitarist was a mix of Steve Vai and a hell of a blues player… Their guitarsolo war in mid concert was great! David Coverdale was happy and made jokes with his band and roadies, also had a good contact with the Finnish crowd. Even though Whitesnake never realy was my cup of tea, a little to mellow for my hard taste, I enjoyed the concert. Thank’s Harri for the ticket…
Yes it’s true.
I’m selling my precious… It’s been a fantastic friend through out the years and i will miss it!
However, it’s a Toyoya Model F from 1987. Color is brownish metallic. Engine works great, tires are very good, both summer and winter. New battery. And it is in ok shape allaround. It a pleasure to drive!
Bad spots, well it need’s abit of love. And some rust help on the sliding sidedoor. And also the lockcoffin on back door is broken.
Specials on this minibuss:
Seats fold down and turns into a bed for 2. Perfect for long journeys. Just stop and sleep. Still plenty of storage room under seats/bed. It’s a superb paragliding van for 2 people. I put a normal 120 madrass on the bed to make it more comfy. It will come along with the buss.
And a thule roof rack.
Car stereo is included. Cd player and radio. No ghetto blaster but enough…
It’s very famous!!! It’s been in Magasin Åre, mentioned as one of the typical årecars, always full of gliders and kayaks and other stuff. They also said it would be crash test sufficiant as a bag of meringues
Second mag it was published in was Transition, and they said just about the same. It’s a very cool minivan!
Perfect for ski or snowboard seasoners, paraglidingpilots or just for traveling.
It’s now stationed in Åre, Sweden. Will sell for 8.000 swedish kronor.
And a Ozone Mantra2 large, red orange, 100 hours+. Good conditions always concertina packed. Two sets of risers. Ozone tandem rucksack, packs any raceharness and glider easily. No acro(well 2 sat’s). Small skysport.se loggo and a small crosscountry magazine loggo. And will sell it for 9000 swedish kronor. Selling because i need a bigger glider…
Today i managed to get out of bed early. And went snowboarding.
I now have pain in my legs. But it was great to get out and ride in the slopes of Åre. Pretty good conditions for this time of year. No ice, just some bumps. Otherwise nice pists. Offpiste abit windblown higher up and in the lowzone i was ok. Saturday i’ve heard was THE day. Hummeln ungroomed. Great stuff…
Any news in Åre then? well Bobbo at Hyddan has realy pulled a rabbit out of his hat and added a large new building to the old Hyddan. Look’s great!

I’m just waiting for new breakpads and i’ll be out of here.
But tonight is oldboys skate session in lokalen. And that’s where i’ll be tonight.
Hmm, still i have not made it to the slopes… Lazy me, well not realy. I have helped some friends with a painting job. It was actually good fun. And tomorrow the lifts are still working soo i might give it a go. I’ve als been trying to see some friends and catching up with their lifes. And letting them now about my future…

In a couple of days i leave for Stockholm, because i have a job there for januari, februari and march. I will work as editor for a magazine called Sportfack. It’s mainly for sportshops and for distributors. And i will do my very best to cover what’s hot and what’s not, in wintersports and outdoor. It’s perfect for me and i’m very happy to get this opportunity. Stockholm here i come. Though i start in januari. Soo still some time for play…
